Dr Craig Carr

Clinical Director ICU, Dunedin Hospital, NZ

Craig trained in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine in Glasgow, Edinburgh and London before working as a consultant and then clinical director in London from 2002 to 2014. During that time he developed special interests in ICU turnaround, critical care facility & service design, health economics, integrated governance, health policy, stress responses, immunomodulation and systemic fungal infections in ICU. In 2013, he graduated MBA with Distinction and Dean's Commendation from the University of Oxford.

In late 2014, Craig moved to Dunedin as Clinical Director and between 2015-2020 oversaw the development of a new 22-bed critical care service integrating intensive care and surgical high dependency. Formerly the Safety and Quality Representative, he is currently the NZ Regional Chair of ANZICS and the Deputy Chair of the New Dunedin Hospital Clinical Leaders Group. He also runs a 55 acre sheep farm in Otago.
