Te Whatu Ora – Health NZ

After completing a management degree and accounting qualification, I dabbled in health during the early part of my career. I confess to finding people more interesting than widgets and so for 25 years, I have done little outside of health. Since returning to Aotearoa in the early 1990s, I have gained wide experience, working across primary, secondary and tertiary care, as well as in regional networks and central government. I was also on the board of a rural hospital for six years.

During my first stint at the Ministry, I was responsible for implementing  the government's planned care policy and had the privilege of visiting almost every medium sized or large public hospital across the motu. I also spent more hours than I care to remember in the "Minister's Office".

Since returning to the Ministry and now Te Whatu Ora over two years ago, I have moved from planned care to acute care to critical care and now have some involvement in all of them.
